Thanks to Wells Fargo, more young adults in Miami-Dade County will be able to access free workforce development programs that have the potential to change their lives. The OLCDC recently received a $10,000 donation from Wells Fargo to offer IT certifications that will help people access middle-wage careers in the tech industry. Participants will take a 13-week training course that will include IT certification, soft skills, and job readiness skills. After completion of the course, students will be matched with potential internship and employment opportunities. Wells Fargo has been a long standing funder of the OLCDC – in the last five years, we have received a grant from the bank every year, either for real estate development, build out of the Tech Hire Center, housing counseling, or financial empowerment. This grant will build on other funds we have received for the Tech Hire Center, including grants from the Sun Trust Foundation, the Miami Foundation, CareerSource South Florida and Amerant Bank.
